It’s time to talk about the women’s basketball team of the South Carolina Gamecocks but this time it is not to speak of the high level of play from one of their main players, it’s about problems with the law, deep problems.Ashlyn Watkins, one of the stars of the stars of the team, has been arrested on kidnapping and assault charges in Columbia, South Carolina, and concerned has spread wide on campus.
While the specifics of the situation have not been clear, Watkins reportedly grabbed the victim’s face in a “forceful” way, while pulling her arms and pushing her at a student housing center inside the university, but that was not all.
I can confirm that @GamecockWBB’s Ashlyn Watkins was arrested and charged with assault and battery, and kidnapping.
I am currently on the football field at South Carolina but this is a developing story and our @wachfox team is working on more details

According to initial reports, Ashlyn Watkins also “grabbed the victim’s head and forced her to walk down the hall, thus controlling her movement while preventing her from leaving,” according to a warrant that has now become public.
Witnesses and same warrant explained that the woman scaped and pulled a fire alarm and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The reports include that she was charged with first-degree assault and battery, and kidnapping and was later released on bond and is due in court in October.
She will be entering her third season at South Carolina averaging 9.2 points and 7.4 rebounds during last year’s national championship run, helping the Gamecocks to a 38-0 undefeated record. That was the second national title for her at the school but now her future is in jeopardy.
