He was victorious against Bazinyan
Jaime Munguia returned to victory after defeating Erik Bazinyan by knockout in the tenth round, after losing his undefeated record against Canelo Alvarez last May.
With the victory, the Tijuana native improved his professional record to 44-1-0 and against the Canadian-Armenian he achieved his 35th knockout and it was his fourth fight in the Super Middleweight category.
Jaime Munguia goes after Edgar Berlanga or Caleb Plant
After his victory over Bazinyan, Munguia talked about the opponents he would like to face in 2025 to continue his path to a world championship.
He emphasized that he wants to stay at 168 pounds, a division that Saul Alvarez has dominated for several years and will have to face opponents who have already succumbed to the Guadalajara native, such as Caleb Plant and Edgar Berlanga, in addition to Christian Mbilli, a Frenchman undefeated in 28 fights.
“Let’s see what the best is coming, there are great fights at 168, there’s Plant, there’s Berlanga, there’s Mbilli. I would like to fight next year with Berlanga or Caleb Plant,” he said.
