Man Utd change Manuel Ugarte plan as Scott McTominay nears Napoli move

Manchester United are prepared to meet Paris Saint-Germain’s demands of a permanent transfer for midfielder Manuel Ugarte if they can finalise the sale of Scott McTominay to Napoli, a report has revealed.

United have been chasing Ugarte’s signature for weeks but, after spending big on Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, found themselves unable to finance a permanent move for Ugarte which is expected to be worth around £51m.

Talks over an initial loan had been held as United pushed to try get a deal for Ugarte over the line before the transfer deadline, but the Red Devils could now be set to come into some unexpected funds after accepting a bid from Napoli for McTominay.

If United can cash in on McTominay for the reported €30m (£25.4m), then Fabrizio Romano states they will switch their attention back to a permanent deal for Ugarte.

PSG are happy to sell Ugarte but would prefer a permanent sale and so would be far happier to negotiate with United if they could cash in this summer.
