Sheryl Swoopes gets fed up and leaks her alleged text messages with Caitlin Clark to everyone’s surprise

She recently missed her broadcasting duties for one of Clark’s games

Sheryl Swoopes responded to a fan who accused her of being “unfair” to Caitlin Clark, with the WNBA Hall of Fame and current Dallas Wings broadcaster recently missing one of Clark’s games.

Not only did Swoopes respond, but she did so with screenshots of what she says is text message chain with the Indiana Fever star.

The 53-year-old posted three images of messages with a contact named Caitlin Clark that dates back to February 5.

In the first screenshot, Swoopes apologizes after making an incorrect statement about the length of Clark’s college career.

“Hey Caitlin, I wanted to personally reach out to you and say I made a mistake on what year this is for you, COVID year has me all confused,” Swoopes wrote. “I also have nothing but respect for you and your game and appreciate your skill. Congrats on everything you have accomplished thus far. Be blessed.”

The next two messages show Clark thanking Swoopes, with the former player then stating another message of appreciation.

Swoopes’ apology came after she made an incorrect statement during an appearance on the ‘Gil’s Arena’ podcast with Gilbert Arenas.

During her appearance, Swoopes incorrectly stated that Clark played five seasons of collegiate ball and took over 40 shots per game when discussing how she broke NCAA’s all-time basketball points record in her senior year.

In reality, Clark played four years while averaging 22.7 shots per game.

Swoopes removed from her post

Eyebrows were raised when Swoopes was removed from her regular post as Dallas Wings color commentator for Sunday’s game against Clark and the Indiana Fever.

This prompted Swoopes to respond to several posts on X that referenced her previous comments on Clark as the reason why she was absent.

Along with her podcast comments, Swoopes has also made other comments on Clark. She recently praised Chicago Sky player Diamond DeShields for committing a flagrant 1 would on Clark.

Hours later, DeShields posted a string of hate comments on her Instagram account, with one user referencing the spinal cord tumor she overcame in 2020.

“Head up kid! Hate will not win!! You are covered and ain’t nothing these evil people can do about that. All love for you!” Swoopes wrote to DeShields after the Sky’s loss to Indiana on Friday.

Swoopes also failed to mention Clark during an August episode of her ‘Queens of the Court’ podcast when discussing the recent improvement of the Fever.

This prompted ESPN host Stephen A. Smith to respond to Swoopes, telling her she was “insane to do that.”
