Two games and the Seminoles have nothing to show
Florida State is in big trouble. After dropping the first game of the season in Dublin, Ireland, against Georgia Tech on a las second field goal, they came back to United States to open up at home against an archrival only to lose once more, now 28-13.
Boston College opened its season in impressive fashion under first-year coach Bill O’Brien. The Eagles, a double-digit underdog, upset the Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium on Labor Day Monday to drop the Seminoles to 0-2.
FSU, which opened the season ranked 10th, has a bye Saturday and returns to action September 14 against Memphis and they might need it. This team got snubbed from a national title contention last year and in 2024 they are nowhere near that level.

Boston College dominated FSU
The Boston College running game took over from the start to set the record straight against a team they don’t like. The victory on Monday could start a winning trend for the Eagles as they have a manageable schedule from here on out.
This was the first time that BC beat Florida State since 2017 and the first time they’ve done it in Tallahassee, Florida, since 2008. The Eagles racked up 267 yards on the ground and scored twice.
This very well could be the rebirth of Bill O’Brien as a head coach. He had a very good game as he called it and it helped his players execute on the field. Things are very different for FSU as hopes at a national title might be as far as ever.
