Conor McGregor’s friend has underwhelming boxing debut after getting knocked out

The Notorious’ personal photographer swapped his camera for gloves

Conor McGregor is a big name when it comes to the UFC, as well as combat sports in general.

His celebrity rub even helps those within his inner circle, as his personal photographer Dave Fogarty found out.

Fogarty recently decided to put his camera down and swap them for boxing gloves, taking part in KSI’s Misfit Boxing series at Dublin’s 3Arena.

There he stepped into the ring and did battle with Deen The Great, the reigning champion. While Fogarty looked as though he might pull off the upset in the early stages of the fight, swinging away and putting pressure on Deen, those hopes soon faded.

In fact, the hopes ended with a bang when Deen caught Fogarty with a right hand in round three. That sent Fogarty to the ground, and while he managed to get back on his feet, it was clear for all to see that he was rocked.

That prompted the referee to bring the fight to an end with just three seconds left in the round.

Fogarty disappointed fight was stopped

While Fogarty was likely helped by McGregor’s rub, he wasn’t simply thrown into the ring. He’s taken part in 12 MMA fights, though he was understandably disappointed at his inability to leave his mark in the boxing ring.

“I’m really disappointed in that stoppage…I’m probably going to head to the one and only Black Forge Inn. I have a few mates on my phone, and I’ll go back and talk to Conor (McGregor) and see what he says. I’m sure he’ll have a bit of voice for me,” said Fogarty via Fred Talks Fighting.

Time will tell what’s next for Fogarty and whether he’ll once again step into the ring. What’s certain is that the fighting photographer can’t be too disappointed given he’s got quite the gig he can fall back on.
