Hun makes history in win over Mount Carmel (IL) – Football recap

Hun set a new mark as it recorded the most points ever scored by an opponent in Mount Carmel (IL) and defeated the Caravan in a 42-38 final on Thursday.

Mount Carmel ranks No. 39 in the country per High School Football America.

Jack Moran came up huge for Hun as he tossed five touchdown passes, including the go-ahead score to Bryce Kania with 59 seconds remaining. Kania also intercepted the ball with 27 seconds left to seal the win for Hun and finished with three touchdowns.

The two sides went blow-for-blow almost the entire game as each touchdown was matched with another. However, Hun was able to hold Mount Carmel to a field goal with 4:04 left which was just the opportunity its offense needed to come away with the victory.

Kania caught a touchdown pass from Moran with 6:39 left in the second quarter to give his team a 28-21 lead. Mount Carmel responded though with a touchdown run to send the game into halftime tied at 28.

After falling behind 35-28 in the third, Hun answered with a touchdown pass from Moran to Drae Tyme to tie the game with 5:08 left in the quarter.

Moran connected with Liam Thorpe with 11:06 left in the second quarter to give Hun a 21-14 lead. He also tossed a score to Kania with 2:38 remaining in the first to give it a 14-7 advantage.

Hun’s Chase Enlow opened the scoring with a one-yard touchdown run.
